A few years ago I became enamored of velvet ribbon with frayed edges, and began working it into my Christmas decor. Using velvet ribbon is a simple, yet impactful, way to decorate your home for Christmas.
Let's check out some of the ways I've used frayed velvet ribbon to add Christmas magic to our home.
The best example of how I used frayed velvet ribbon for Christmas is this French country Christmas tree.
I tied the velvet ribbon into bows around each LED taper candle. I absolutely loved the look.
I used taupe frayed velvet ribbon to adorn the top of my Holy Family cloche.
Velvet ribbon, especially the frayed type, adds such a soft texture to your decor.

I like to use velvet ribbon to hang Christmas decor like wreaths and this vintage French horn.

Velvet ribbon is also perfect to wrap around the neck of, well, anything that has a neck, like this Lenox swan!

You can also buy velvet ribbon that's been pre-tied into bows like this mustard colored velvet bow I got from Target last year. It worked as a topper to this DIY Christmas swag.

Any type of Christmas greens benefit from velvet ribbon, like this DIY Christmas scroll topped with an evergreen garland.
I love how this velvet ribbon naturally twisted into curliques.

I transformed this basic Target clearance eucalyptus wreath into a
romantic Christmas wreath by adding some blush frayed velvet ribbon and
copper bells at the top.

Velvet ribbon was essential for making my DIY Christmas ornament garland.

The velvet ribbon garland definitely added to the romantic mantel vibe.
Mindfully adding velvet ribbon to your Christmas decor is easy to do and truly makes a real impact. It adds just a bit "more" than using regular ribbon like most of us are used to doing at Christmas.
While I've used velvet ribbon for other Christmas decor projects, I'm going to stop here. Hopefully I've given you some great ideas for adding velvet ribbon to your own Christmas decor.
Well, that's it until next time, friends!
