American Pickers, Anyone?

August 13, 2011

Well,  I did it.  Last weekend on the way to chickadee number one's feis (Irish dance competition) in Des Moines, Iowa, we made a little pit stop.  Des Moines is a five hour (ugh) drive for us, but Antique Archaeology is only two hours away!  It was a nice diversion and I'm glad we did it.
Antique Archaeology is the home base for Mike and Frank from the hit T.V. show American Pickers.  For you "junkers" out there who have never heard of these guys, they work as a team criss-crossing the country in their van, looking for great old barns and garages to pick through.  Then they turn around and sell their finds for a lovely profit.  I want their jobs!  (And yes, the show is addictive.  As if there were any doubt.)

Of course I took a few pics.

I just L-O-V-E the old gas pumps.

Mike is a big fan of bikes of all kinds, and that is readily apparent here.

There were some very cool things, but nothing that really made my heart go pitter-patter.  Still, I'm glad we stopped by.  Who knows, maybe next time Mike and Frank will even be there?

Are these two cute, or what?
It was fun!  For those of you interested in stopping by, they're located at:

115 1/2 Davenport Street
LeClaire, IA 52753

On another note, I'm excited to be bringing you a s-w-e-e-t giveaway this week.  Stay tuned for the announcement!

And lastly, don't forget to check in Tuesday and see my Club G.W. Features and join the next Tuesday's Club G.W. Party with Charm Bracelet Diva!

I tried watching a time or two, but lost interest. Guess I just picked the wrong time to watch.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

You are right, how can you not become addicted to Mike and Frank.
American Pickers is my favorite show..........even all the reruns!
Will have to try and make a trip
