Christmas Decorating with Vintage Birdcages

November 24, 2014

Last year after Christmas I shared my ideas on how to decorate
with vintage birdcages. This year I thought it would be fun to
explore more closely the many ways you can use birdcages
specifically for Christmas décor.

Last Christmas I filled mine with red ornaments I scored at Goodwill.
My birdcage was picked up at Michigan's Longest Garage Sale.

I added a pre-made burlap ribbon to the top of the cage.

I thought it worked well in my foyer vignette. But I think there
are many other ways I could have used it in my Christmas décor.

I've always wanted to string lights inside a birdcage.

Adventures of a Busy Bee
How pretty is this mini Christmas tree with lights?

The doves, simple greens and pinecone turn this
birdcage into a nature-inspired Christmas vignette.

What would
fill it with this

Love all these creative ideas! I have two vintage cages and they'll probably both get filled with ornaments this year.

These are all such pretty ideas but my favorites are the one filled with ornaments and the one with the partridge on her nest.

Thanks so much for the inspiration, Kathleen. I've got a nice bird cage out in the garage--I'm going to bring it in and see what I can do with it :)
