Vintage Salt and Pepper Shaker Snow Globes

I've always loved creating new snow globes each year around Christmas time. I had intended to show you all the different snow globes I've created as mentioned in my How To Create A Waterless Christmas Snow Globe post, but I decided instead to focus on one of my favorites. And that would be the vintage salt and pepper shaker snow globes.

Strange, I know, but oh so cute! They're like the perfect receptacle, if you will, for cute and tiny Christmas figurines. And I have some new ones I'd like to share with you today.

Here's a shaker with some faux snow, two teeny tiny bottle brush trees and a mini reindeer sitting atop the lid.

This one's filled with snow and a bottle brush tree. I decorated the outside of the shaker with a bottle brush wreath and tree on top with some jaunty red jute.

Another vintage shaker filled with snow and a bottle brush tree, topped off with a stag and an added green Christmas ball.

Here's another shaker filled with snow, bottle brush tree and a tiny white deer. Again I used a bottle brush wreath on the outside.

You can pick up the miniatures and faux snow at craft stores. I bought the vintage shakers for 50 cents apiece at Goodwill, and some newer shakers from the Dollar Store, again at 50 cents apiece. I keep an eye out for them all year round. I also used tiny glue dots to adhere the trees and deer inside of and on top of the shakers.

I had such a fun time filling these little salt and pepper shakers with my favorite Christmas goodies - bottle brush trees and reindeer! I can't decide on a favorite. What do you think? What would you put in yours?

I can't believe that Christmas is only 9 days away. I have a few more Christmas-related posts up my sleeve but whether I can get them ready in time or not remains to be seen. Right now my priority is turning the house upside down to find my Christmas card address book. I have a great card, but no addresses to send them to (other than close family). Yikes! Wish me luck!

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Vintage Salt and Pepper Shaker Snow Globes. Thanks for spending time with me today!

So cute. I bought little bottles in the $ Store to make some of these with my grandkids this weekend. Last year I made one as an ornament for exchange and it was so fun I knew they would all love it. Wish me luck that the faux snow doesn't end up everywhere.

Kathleen- Those are adorable. I would never think to fill a salt shaker with the mini's. Cuteness itself. They would look cute lined up on a kitchen window. xo Diana

I am hoping to make a bunch of waterless snow globes and am busy collecting containers and any critters I can find thrifting & yard sale-ing. Love your ideas.
