Happy almost Fourth of July, people! I know I'm sneaking in this DIY patriotic flag wreath at the eleventh hour, but I got bit by the Fourth of July decor bug at the last minute. Not one to decorate for the fourth, I'm not sure what compelled me to do it this year. It was probably due to the fact that I came up with a crazy easy inexpensive flag wreath which only took me 5 minutes to make. Want to make one, too? Let's get started!

Next up were two patriotic flag scarves and one package of two patriotic flag bows.
I was very impressed with the colorful scarves and bows.
So how did I make it? I made it by literally wrapping one scarf, then the other, all the way around the wreath form and tucking in any loose ends. I love the way the scarves wrapped so beautifully.
Then I attached the bow using its own gold twisty tie. Then I hung it on the back of the front door to see how it looked. I liked it!
So out onto the front door it went. Just FYI at the time I took these porch photos it was around 97 degrees in the shade and about 70% humidity. I stupidly went outside in bare feet and almost burned them on the sidewalk -- it was that hot. Gotta love the midwest.
Sadly, I did not decorate anything else but the door. But I guess that's to be expected at the last minute, no?
I think if I had planted red geraniums in the two urns it would have added a spectacular patriotic flair to the porch. I also think I could have made the wreath bigger, more in proportion to the door. Lessons learned for next year! Overall I'm thrilled with how my $4.00 and 5 minute investment turned out!
