Vintage-Inspired Pigeon Hole Cubby Christmas Display

December 30, 2021

This vintage-inspired pigeon hole cubby Christmas display is definitely one of my all-time favorite DIY Christmas decor creations.

Okay I mean WOW, right?

I think it looks like a vintage motel key sorter cubby, the kind you see in hotels in old movies.

I bought it at a local estate/vintage sale. While I believe it's a reproduction, I'm still in  love with it.

I had recently seen a similar one on IG decorated for Christmas so I knew right away that I had to have one for myself. Then I went to town decorating it for Christmas.

I made an Instagram reel of it so I'll start with that so you can see it in its full Christmas glory:

It's like my own little Christmas village.

I've collected all the ornaments and miniatures over the years. Some are vintage and some are just made to look vintage.

All it takes is a few cute Christmas tchotchkes, whether vintage or new it doesn't matter. Just as long they're things you love and that make you smile.

I filled my pigeon hole cubby with mostly "houses" of all sorts. But you can also spy a deer, some bottle brush trees, churches and Christmas trees. The best part is that many of them light up, and when they're all turned on it is truly a sight for my vintage loving eyes to behold. Granted, it takes a bunch of specialty batteries to keep these babies lit, but for the sake of Christmas cheer? Priceless.

Ironically, when my husband saw it, his first words were: Beer Advent Calendar! And I was like um, No. But maybe next year? I think this baby will make an AWESOME Advent calendar, no matter what I put inside those cute little cubbies. I mean, there are 24 cubbies! Perfect.

I can tell you right now that this pigeon hole cubby will be used throughout the year, but already it's become a Christmas classic in this house!

Well, that's it for today, friends!
