DOLLAR TREE INCREASES PRICES DUE TO TARIFFS
Let me start off by saying that I recently learned of some juicy Dollar Tree Store news. Apparently, Dollar Tree has made an official announcement regarding increasing prices due to the recent tariffs enacted by the current president earlier this year. The effects of that decision are finally coming home to roost.
Since tariffs imposed on goods imported from other countries, particularly China, are contributing to the higher costs of products, Dollar Tree is moving away from its current $1.25 price point by introducing items priced at $1.50 and beyond, including some up to $7.
Some locations will still primarily offer items for $1.25, although I'm not sure how they decide which stores will stay at that price point.
I would be lying if I didn't say that I was disappointed at this news. I've been a huge proponent of Dollar Tree since it used to be known as the Dollar Store. I think I entered my first Dollar Store in the early 1990's, and I have to say that at the time I thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Back then I was a young lawyer working hard to pay back my student loans, and the Dollar Store proved to be somewhat of a savior for me in those early years. Just the fact that I write this blog series entitled Dollar Tree Treasures should tell you something about how I feel about Dollar Tree stores.
So, will I stop shopping there? Not right away. I'll be surveying the situation closely and will let you know more details as I discover them.
In the mean time, I intend to continue sharing with you the best of the best items found at Dollar Tree, with continued total transparency about the cost.
I've shared many a Dollar Tree picture frame here, but I do believe that these gold bamboo picture frames are my favorite.
While only $1.25, I believe they can compete aesthetically with much more expensive gold bamboo frames for sure.
Any type of bamboo frame (gold, wood, silver or otherwise) is really popular right now especially with grandmillenial decor fans. I love them because they fit in quite well with my chinoiserie accessories and decor.
If you don't have any luck at your local Dollar Tree you can always find some bamboo frames on Amazon:
Malden 4" by 6" Matted Gold Bamboo Picture Frame
Vintage Gold Bamboo Picture Frame
Bamboo Picture Frame in Root 8" by 10"
Another Dollar Tree supply staple is ribbon. I've purchased many different types of ribbon from them, but these two rolls of burlap ribbon really caught my eye -- pink and green is such a great color combo!
Pretty coordinating colors, 9 feet long (each) and only $1.25 -- I already have an easy summer decor project in mind for these babies that I'll be sharing soon!
I've been buying decorative file folders from Dollar Tree for years. Getting and staying organized can be a real chore, so why not make it fun and stylish? I like to use mine for both blogging and personal organization.
I know not all Dollar Tree stores carry the same merchandise at
the same time. Even so, it's my hope that what you read about here
in my Dollar Tree Treasures posts will inspire you to keep an eye
out for similar items that you can use in your own home or as part
of your own DIY decor projects.

Kathleen, I had not heard about the price increase yet so thanks for the update. I love the gold bamboo frames you found but have not seen those or the cute folders at my local store.
