Welcome to Thrifted vs. Styled! Today's edition features another installment in my Blue and White Series -- spice jars and vases and plates, oh my!
Without a doubt, my blue and white porcelain collection has taken on a life of its own! Join me as I share the latest!
This style of blue and white spice jar is new to my collection -- vintage Czechoslovakian ceramic spice jars. They were probably made between 1920 and 1940, and are recognizable by their Art Deco style. They were a gift from my younger daughter. She got them at Goodwill for $1.99 each.
This small Delft pitcher (or maybe creamer?) was a gift from my oldest daughter for Mother's Day. It says "Delft Holland" on the bottom. I found it selling on Chairish, listed as a 1970's Delft ceramic pitcher, for $150. Hmmm. I believe my daughter paid $8.00 for it.
It's the perfect size for a bud vase. I'm in love with the new garden dahlia varieties I've managed to create from last year's seeds. More on that journey in a later garden post.
Along with the small Delft pitcher, she also gave me a Delft bud vase. I love its unique square shape. Its makers mark says: "Delft Blue Made in Holland Handwork FG" followed by the picture of a crown.
Here's more of a chinoiserie-style blue and white bud vase from Goodwill for $1.99. On the bottom it says "Made in China."
While I don't normally collect souvenir plates, this blue and white mini plate depicting the Paul Revere House fits in well with my blue and white plate collection, especially the ones that are currently hanging on my DIY chinoiserie plate wreath.
I love that it's made by Alfred Meakin in England and has such a detailed maker's mark.
Here's a blue and white patterned butter pat (dish) I picked up at an antique store for 99 cents. I've added it to my growing collection!
The final treasures in today's series are these blue and white rice bowls. I picked up a set of eight of them at a local church thrift store for $12.00. I love the Asian motif, and the fact that there are a few different patterns.
We've been using them at dinner for things like vegetables and other types of side dishes.
I've seen these and similar bowls for sale, prices running from $8 to $10 per bowl. I believe they may have been made in the 1970's.
So which blue and white find is your favorite? I love them all!
Well, that's it for today, friends!
I hope you've enjoyed reading
and that I've inspired you in some way.
