Welcome to the second installment of my savvy shopper series. Today I'll be sharing the story of my thrifted dark and rusty candelabra that I totally transformed with some primer and white paint.
Let me show you the inspiration for this gorgeous mantel decor piece.
Here's the inspiration for my thrifted candelabra transformation. I absolutely fell in love with it at first sight. But for $118 (+ shipping)? I don't think so!
But good things come to those who wait! I later thrifted this gorgeous vintage candelabra for a song from Goodwill.

It was a bit too dark for my decorating taste, but I knew exactly how to change that.
I gave it my best shot and ended up transforming it into something I could definitely work with. You can read how I did it in my post Thrift Store Candelabra Transformation.
How gorgeous is this?
When thrifting, you need to keep an open mind and look at the "bones" of a find and not worry so much about the color. It's amazing what a can of paint (or sp3ray paint) can do.
So what's the one takeaway I want to share with you today? Be patient! I know it's difficult to forego purchasing an item that you've absolutely fallen in love with. (Trust me, I'm the most impatient person I know.) But there are rewards for waiting! I have proven that to myself time and time again. How about you start proving it to yourself? I promise, you won't be sorry!
Their price: $118.00
What I paid: $4.99 + paint and primer
Savings: approx. $100
