Irish Dancer Charm Bracelet ~ Bonnie Jean

November 2, 2010

This Thursday is Chickadee Number One's birthday ~ 11! I honestly can't believe it. She's becoming quite the little lady, you know. And she's been asking for an Irish Dancer charm bracelet for about a year now, so I thought it was time. My most recent Irish Dancer charm bracelet was quite elaborate what with my usual array of charms and pearls and lockets. She, however, requested a simpler one, more like one of my first Irish Dancer charm bracelets ~ "Claire." So I've tried to recreate that for her.....sshhhhh, it's a surprise!

"BONNIE JEAN"

Sterling silver Irish dancer charm ~ what detail!

Sterling silver soft shoe or "ghillie" charm

Sterling silver celtic knot charm

I also added a horse shoe and (of course) two different shamrock charms for good luck.  I mean, what Irish dancer couldn't use a bit o'luck?
I'm very excited to see her face when she opens it.  Hope she likes it!

Now, if you haven't entered my CSN gift certificate giveaway, enter HERETime is running out ~  giveaway ends at noon CST on Thursday, November 4th.  Bonne chance!

Irish Dance Charm Bracelets and the Three Rivers Feile

July 30, 2010

I finally finished that Irish Dance Charm Bracelet I mentioned recently.  Here are a few views.

There's a silver Trinity, an antique brass locket and a sterling silver Irish dancer.  I'm going to put a picture of each of my girls in the locket!

There's and antique gold clover, an old "Lucky" charm of mine and a sterling silver Ghillie, or Irish dance soft shoe.

There's a sterling silver Claddaugh and a four leaf clover encased in resin.  I've also used pearls, of course, in the glass, coin and freshwater varieties!  I've also added faceted crystal beads for a little more sparkle.  It's approximately 7 1/2" long on an antique brass double link chain bracelet with a pewter toggle clasp.  I've made a few of these before, all unique.  Here's a peek at another one.

This one's a bit more plain.  You might even say elegant.  And here's one that sold on Etsy.

There are others, too, all unique.  I hope to be making more in the near future for my Etsy shop.  If you're interested in purchasing one I would be happy to talk to you about your style, etc. and how I might make one for you as a feisanna mama (as I like to call myself!) or even for your daughter, grandaughter, neice or friend!  Click on View My Complete Profile in the right sidebar and it'll take you to "Contact me."

I have Irish dance on the brain these days as my girls and I will be attending the Three Rivers Feile in Des Moines, Iowa the first weekend in August.  It's being run by their dance school, the Foy School of Traditional Irish Dance and Iowa Irish, Inc.  We're pretty excited.  It should be a lot of fun, after the five hour drive, that is! :)  Oh yeah ~ and if you know of anyone in the Chicago area who is trying to get rid of a size 2 1/2 pair of hard shoes, let me know.  We need them!

And if you're in the Des Moines area, stop by the Polk County Convention Complex in downtown Des Moines on Saturday, August 7th.  The competition starts at 8:30 a.m. and runs almost all day!  It's a grand time!

Hope you all have a great weekend!
