Dollar Tree Treasures #5: Affordable Fall Decorating Ideas

September 3, 2019

Dollar Tree stores are a great go-to spot for many DIY home decor enthusiasts on a budget. Seeing as that's the story of my life, I figured I could share my Dollar Tree insider knowledge with you as I find new and noteworthy Dollar Tree items that you, too, can use to beautify your home. Dollar Tree Treasures #5 includes crafting supplies, pumpkins, signs and more -- so let's get started!

I can never have enough faux acorns come fall. They look great scattered around a vignette or on a tray, and they make great vase filler. The clip-on pumpkins also come in orange, but I'm a lover of all things white. I already had some from last year -- Dollar Tree Cotton Boll Stems And Other Farmhouse Fall Decor -- but when you find a good thing I always say stock up.

They're so versatile -- you can clip them onto wreaths and into flower arrangements, or just pile them up in a vintage soup tureen for effect. Yes, I did that, too.

Just when I think I've seen all possible faux pumpkins out there, along comes something new. Velvet always adds a touch of class, yet these pumpkins somehow still retain their rustic character as well. I've seen similar versions in other stores that are much more expensive but not necessarily better looking. So I was very pleased with these four. Last year I used all jewel toned pumpkins -- Plush Pumpkins For Pennies -- but this year I wanted to go with more traditional colors.

I think this is my favorite of all the decorations. So simple, yet elegant.

I love how it looks sitting on a rustic wood slice.

It looks truly fabulous placed in front of a Big Lots fall pillow featuring white pumpkins.

I placed another one in a hurricane lantern with some scattered pine cones.

And even though I've been known to make my own seasonal signs, their "Farm Fresh" signs were just too cute to pass up! Her we have apples, a real favorite when it comes to fall decor.

And who can resist pumpkins?

The very first fall decor item I bought at Dollar Tree this year was this long wooden "thankful" sign. I love everything about it -- the script, the buffalo check and the painted pumpkins.

Later I found this "grateful" sign and added it to the collection. The two signs look great displayed on my shelves. The fabulous textured pumpkin pillow behind it was an estate sale find from last fall.

Last but not least, this wooden sign was also too cute to pass up. Perfect for fall (because it looks like a wooden pumpkin!) and perfect for Thanksgiving (grateful sentiment). I've seen similar signs at other stores for much more.

What seasonal decor would be complete without seasonal faux flowers? Every Dollar Tree on earth is filled with fall colored flowers right now. So run, don't walk -- it's a very affordable way to add seasonal color to any room. I love these mini mums.

This is a "maple bouquet," with fall leaves, berries and pumpkins.

I love the mini pomegranates as well, which are very in this season, and work wonders for any fall flower arrangement.

Read on to find out how I actually incorporated these Dollar Tree finds into my fall decor.

As I already mentioned, the two long wooden signs look best sitting on shelves.

I forgot to mention that Dollar Tree also has great garlands. I bought some fall ones and added them to the tops of my wooden hurricane lanterns on the sideboard in the dining room.

I also placed one across the top of my vintage farmhouse ladder in the living room, surrounding my $3.00 Target "Autumn leaves" sign.

My wooden "pumpkin" sign works great on the dining room farmhouse shelf.

I added some mini velvet pumpkins into the mix as well as some faux acorns to round out the vignette on my coffee table.

Later I exchanged the mini pumpkins on the tray for my vintage ironstone pitcher filled with that beautiful fall bouquet I put together.

I am absolutely in love with this arrangement. The colors are so vibrant and cheerful they really make me smile.

I feel like I've created the quintessential fall flower arrangement -- all for way less than if I'd purchased the flowers from a home goods or craft store. And that always makes me feel good!
.

Lastly, I found this white ceramic pumpkin the other day and fell in love. Right now it's on my dining room farmhouse shelves. I'll be sharing an update on the fall decor in the dining room soon. I know it seems like I bought a lot, but the total cost was less than one fall decor item at a more mainstream (read: expensive) decor store, i.e., Pottery Barn. And I get to play around with so many different decorating possibilities!

I know that not all Dollar Tree stores carry the same merchandise at the same time. Even so, it's my hope that what you read about here in my Dollar Tree Treasures posts will inspire you to keep an eye out for similar items that you can use in your own home or as part of your own DIY projects.

Well, that's it for today, friends.
I hope I've inspired you in some way and that

Stopping by from the blog hop. I love the Dollar Tree, I was actually there this morning. It feels good to be able to create new decor at such a reasonable price.

I have bought several of the same items at my DT. I actually frequent 3 different DT's. I think DT is doing a really great job with fall decor this year, & you can't beat the price. thanks
