Sometimes the simplest DIY decor ideas are the best ones. Take toilet paper storage, for example. It sounds pretty mundane, but trust me --- I have an easy, yet elegant, trick for creating tasteful toilet paper storage.
It's so easy you'll be wondering why you didn't think of it yourself.
The toilet paper storage idea reminds me of another semi-related DIY decor trick -- tasteful decorative tissue storage, which is also one of my favorite hacks.
As for toilet paper storage, I have to admit that I was today years old before I ever really thought about it. I mean, to me, toilet paper should always be stored out of sight. Its not something you want to be looking at every time you enter the bathroom.
And then I came across these beautiful paper napkins/hand towels and my thinking changed!
HOW TO COVER TOILET PAPER ROLLS WITH DECORATIVE PAPER NAPKINS
1. Lay your napkin design-side down on the table
2. Place the new roll of toilet paper on the center edge of the napkin and begin rolling it forward, moving it away from you.
3. Carefully roll the toilet paper so the entire roll is covered with the napkin, smoothing out any creases or wrinkles that might arise.
4. Once you've rolled it up, take the extra paper overhanging on each side and stuff that into each open end of the roll itself.
Here's one side tucked in.
And here's the finished product!
There are many different containers you can use to display your decorated toilet paper rolls in. You can even display them out in the open, on a shelf, or even on the counter (that's how pretty they look)!
I knew from the beginning what I wanted to display my decorative toilet rolls in -- a beautiful thrifted, market basket with handles ($6.99 from Goodwill).
Once I had three rolls covered in pretty napkins, I filled the thrifted basket with 4 plain, uncovered tissue rolls, then placed the three covered rolls across the top of the basket, topped again with two more decorated rolls to make a statement.
I love the texture of the basket in contrast to the blue and white patterned paper napkin.
NOTE: I used Mega Rolls of toilet paper and the napkin, when laid out flat, measured 13" x 15.75". The size of the napkin you'll need will depend on the size of your rolls.

Would you display your decorated toilet paper rolls in a container like I did or would you leave them on a shelf or the counter? What patterns and colors of napkins would you choose to match your style?
Well, that's it for today, friends!
