How to Create Fall Floral Arrangements

September 26, 2025

Adding a warm and cozy fall vibe to your decor doesn't have to be difficult or expensive. Using things you probably already have in your stash, you can create a warm look to last throughout the fall season.

Whether it's a wreath made with fresh or faux fall florals, a basket filled with fall florals, or maybe even a chinoiserie ginger jar filled with rustic autumnal florals, it all speaks volumes as to your own personal decorating style, as well as how you embrace the season.

Dried Hydrangeas and Anthropologie Pitcher

February 12, 2014

Things have been so cold and snowy in so many parts of the U.S. this winter that I think we're all ready for a little bit of spring. I know I am. So the other day, as the sunlight was shining through the living room windows, I made myself stop and take a few pictures of my favorite flowers as a reminder of better things to come.

These came from the hydrangea bushes in our back yard, planted lovingly for me by my husband. There weren't any when we moved here. Now there are about fifteen. And this past summer, blessed by rain, they all bloomed spectacularly.

This beautiful Anthropologie Surroyal pitcher was a birthday gift to myself last year around this time. Total clearance item I lucked out in finding. It works great with a number of different types of flowers, but we all know hydrangeas are my all-time favorite. I'm currently waiting for spring with bated breath. How about you?

Well, that's it until next time, friends!

Fall Vignette

October 7, 2013

Not much going on here these days since I haven't really been decorating for the season.  It's  unusual for me, but home schooling is taking up most of my time right now.  I did want to share a little vignette with you, though, and (believe it or not) some more of those amazing hydrangeas that just keep on giving.

I just liked the light streaming in here so I took a picture.  This is our family room, and it's usually impossible to get a good picture due to inadequate lighting.  So I jump at the chance to take a picture in here anytime I can.

I went outside today and checked on the hydrangea bushes, more as an afterthought than anything else, since by my recollection they should be pretty much done blooming by now.  But no.

I cut a couple bright pink ones and threw them in one of my vintage blue Mason jars.  There are still a few new blooms out there that I'll be keeping an eye on.  And of course I had to cut the drying ones, too.

I've been so blessed with blooms this year, it practically makes me giddy every time I discover more despite the lateness of the season.  I'm not complaining, of course.

And here is a beautiful fall bouquet courtesy of Mr. CBD, "just because."  He knows that fall is my favorite time of year.  Thanks, babe!

Well, I've got a few full days of homeschooling ahead of me and then a 4-day Fall Break weekend coming up.  Hoping to see some pretty leaves in Michigan.  If I capture any I'll be sure to post them on Facebook and Instagram.  Do you follow?  I'd love it if you would!  See sidebar for details.

Have a great week, friends!

xoxo

Bumper Crop of Hydrangeas

Dried hydrangeas vintage milk bottles

I was recently thrilled to find out that our hydrangea bushes are not, in fact, finished blooming for the year. Not only are they still blooming, they are also simultaneously drying. And they couldn't be more gorgeous. You can see the actual bushes in the background of this photo. There are so many hues -- greens, pinks and purples abound.
