Sundance Love

I just received the latest Sundance catalog....Fall!  I'm still working on wrapping my head around the fact that it's time once again to redecorate hearth and home {and body} for this, my favorite time of year.

So, are you ready for a little Sundance love?

Robert Redford's Done it Again and the Na-da Farm Boho Ball

Anyone who has followed my blog for even a short time probably knows that I'm a Sundance-a-holic.  And sometimes when that new catalog comes in the mail I have to share some of my drool-worthy Sundance picks with you.

I'm thinking this one would look SOoooooo GOoood at the Na-da Farm Event this weekend.  I mean, Bo-ho Ball and all.......and you know what they say....a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. 

That's right.

These harness boots are my favorite.  And guess what they're called?  Frye Glitterati Harness Studded Booties.  Now there's a mouthful.  But mighty nice, no?

Since I don't have any of the above (pout, pout), I'll be relying on my trusty classic Frye harness boots.  
 Mine are a bit more scuffed up than these, but that's what makes them my own!

Can you tell I'm looking forward to the Bo-ho Ball this Friday night?  I'll be wearing my boots and carrying my Romantic Prairie Style book by Fifi O'Neill (for her to sign!) and of course, my camera.  What blogger in her right mind would attend a barn sale/blog event and NOT bring her camera?

There's so much in store I can hardly wait.  Hopefully I can share my experience at the event with you later.  Right now I'm fluffing up my outfit......anyone know where I can get a full-length tulle tutu?  Do tell, cause if I had one I think I might just feel like be the belle of the Ball!

Sundance Holidays are Heeere!

I know I'm all about handmade BUT........by now you all know my weakness for Sundance.  Their holiday catalog just arrived and I'm in heaven!  So sit back with a cuppa somethin' and strap in  ~ here goes.  (And yes, my shoe fetish is glaringly obvious, AGAIN!)

(Hello.....Mr. CBD....is anybody listening?)

Vintage Inspiration

I'm so excited to be joining Debra for her Vintage Inspiration Friday over at Common Ground.  What inspires me?  Right now I'd have to say it's this:

It's not only the Sundance Jewelry Collection that inspires me to create.  It's their gorgeous clothes and accessories laden with rosettes in such sumptuous fall colors that have me daydreaming of crisp, clear fall days and all that goes along with them.  Here's just a snippet of what I'm referring to:

I could go on and on about all the things I love about Sundance (many of you already know this!) but I'll stop here to spare you my drooling over the keyboard.


Suffice it to say that they continue to inspire me to create jewelry (of my own persuasion, of course) and I'd love to be able to just sit down with their catalog and just order away.  Oh well.....a girl can dream, can't she?

It's Sundance Time Again!

Ok, so I'm a little obsessed with Robert Redford's Sundance Collection of jewelry, clothes and home decor.  But can you blame me?  As much as I'm for "All Things Handmade" and all that, sometimes a girl's gotta be able to drool at some really cool stuff!  Seriously, the jewelry is what draws me to the catalog ~ such inspiration for me to create!  Here's my latest version of Sundance eye candy ~ enjoy!

Sundance-inspired Chain Drop Earrings Tutorial

As promised, my first tutorial, so bear with me folks!  I haven't even made any earrings yet but these cried out to me from the latest Robert Redford Sundance catalog:

I tried making the photo larger but it got all fuzzy on me so sorry.  Anyway, LoVe these earrings!  Don't you?

To start, I pulled together the following:

 
******YOU'LL NEED TWO OF EVERYTHING PICTURED! *****

2 eyepins
2 beads
4 spacers
4 lengths of chain, each 1 1/2"
10 decorative jump rings
4 larger decorative jump rings
2 earwires

First you place the eyepin through one spacer, then the bead, then another spacer.  Now cut the wire left sticking out and use your round nose pliers to bend it into another "eye" or closed loop.  Then add your first 2 decorative jump rings and the two larger jump rings, one on each side.



Now you add two more decorative jump rings and then attach your two 1 1/2" of chain, one on each side like this:


Last but not least you gather the chains together and place them into your last decorative jump ring and close it.  Now hang that jump ring on the earwire and gently squeeze it closed.  Then, repeat the whole thing again and voila' ~ here they are:


The possibilities are endless depending on what beads, chains and jump rings you choose to use.  Me, I take apart old necklaces for chain remnants and I also take apart actual chains for "custom-made" jump rings.  If I like it, it's going in!  So make your own version and send me the pics so I can share them.  Just click on My Profile in the right sidebar and then e-mail them to me :)  The same goes for any questions you may have.  Feel free to ask!
